The School was established in Dunbar by Jane in 1989 and currently has four teachers on board. We are a non-profit making organisation.

Jane and Fiona Knox are fully qualified Teachers and Adjudicators with The Scottish Official Highland Dancing Association. Jane is a qualified examiner and spent two years teaching in Belfast on a consultancy basis for the Ulster-Scots Agency. Our teachers have approved disclosures from Disclosure Scotland.

Ashley Muir is our qualified Associate Teacher. Katharine Duguid is our Assistant Teacher.

Jane and Fiona have had a long and varied career in highland dance. Both ex-champion highland dancers, they have and continue to dance worldwide in places such as The Middle East, Taiwan, France, Italy, India, Denmark, Ireland, Spain, Mexico and Italy. Jane has danced in the opening ceremonies of the Commonwealth Games and the Special Olympics.

The Jane Knox Dancers have represented numerous clients including British Airways,The British Embassy, multiple hotel groups, the BBC, Johnny Walker, Diageo, British Transplant Games and have danced in front of The Queen, Duke of Edinburgh, Princess Anne and the Earl and Countess of Wessex as well as the Scottish Executive. We are currently enjoying working in partnership with the Stockbridge Pipe Band.
